Pusha T’s “Fear of God” mixtape out today — link for FREE download!

21 Mar

Pusha T, has been working incredibly hard on this mixtape, since his many features on G.O.O.D. Music artists’ releases. Also, he has only recently started doing his own work aside from his Clipse duo with his brother, Gene, so this mixtape is a huge step forward.

Many delays have pushed back the release date, but finally we have the release… Best of all, it is available for free!

Zedd’s Zelda project out now on Beatport

21 Mar

I mentioned last week that Zedd, the electro house producer gaining steam with Skrillex and Black Eyed Peas remixes, had given his fans a peek into his new single. This was his original mix “The Legend of Zelda.”

Today it was finally given its official Beatport release through Bazooka Records.
This single is that classic clean Zedd sound, and you’d be missing out if you didn’t take a listen. Along with this single is the Electrixx remix which is incredibly hard hitting and a must-hear.

Buy it here on Beatport:

I’ve already uploaded the Zedd song in this article, so you can hear it there. However, here is the Electrixx remix:

What’s new in dubstep?

21 Mar

In this article I’ll highlight some of the newest and hottest dubstep stuff on late March 2011. You’ll hear new tracks from Dirtyloud, Subvert & Excision, Sluggo & Liquid Stranger, and Nostalgia.

Everyone is now familiar with Dirtyloud after the resounding success of their “Rock It Roll It” remix. It sat at the tip top of the Beatport dubstep charts for weeks and is still in a very good place at #6.
Now they have a new remix. It is of Byob’s “Chillin.” Buy it here on Beatport:

Out now on Rottun Records is a new release from the duo of Excision and Subvert. It’s a two track record, titled “Rude Symphony / Darkness.” It’s doing very well, currently being supported on Beatports “Must Hear Dubstep” chart of the week.
Here’s the link so you can purchase it:

Sluggo is a strong up and comer in the dubstep scene, gaining some recognition along his friends in Helicopter Showdown with their collaborations (listen to “The Wrestler” and “Hostage”). But now Sluggo is pairing up with a different artist, Liquid Stranger. Together they have put out a banger of a dubstep track on Ultragore Recordings titled “Stalkers.” It was released coupled with Helicopter Showdown’s “Hostage,” and it is also featured in Beatports “Must Hear Dubstep” chart.

Beatport is making efforts to help raise money for Japan

21 Mar

Today on Monday, March 21st, every single dollar made in sales on the online music retailing powerhouse will go directly to relief in Japan.

This is incredibly generous considering that the website is far and away the most robust retailer for anything EDM.

So, if you were waiting to make a purchase on Beatport, today is the day to do it. All of the money you spend today will be going to a great cause. Below is a link to Beatport.

Tron remix album, R3C0NF1GUR3D, getting closer to release — tracklist included

21 Mar

Everyone loved Daft Punk’s venture into the official composing game with their highly acclaimed score to Disney’s Tron: Legacy in 2010. The album release of this score was even well renown and sold very well even though it was not a standard electro/house release like the duo is famous for.

Well, now all of the songs from that score are being remixed by the likes of The Glitch Mob, The Crystal Method, Kaskade, Avicii, and many more.

New Avicii bootleg remix of an unexpected artist

21 Mar

Last night, Avicii fulfilled his promise of releasing a new song once his facebook page reached its benchmark 100,000 fans.

All I have to say is that you should take a listen… After all, what could be cooler than a bouncy Avicii remix of a household staple by Kings of Leon?

Heist works with UKF Dubstep to help raise money for relief in Japan

20 Mar

Today, british record label, UK’s Finest Dubstep uploaded a brand new track produced by Heist to their popular youtube page. The song titled “Pray For Japan,” and although listeners are able to download it for free, donations are much appreciated.

The track is respectful and relaxed, but really nicely produced. I suggest you take a listen. Also, this is the link to UKF’s donation page where you are also able to download the tune for free.

Jay Electronica – Prelude to a Freestyle

17 Mar

As I have been a long time fan of Jay Electronica, I’m excited to present this little tune. Although its lacking in stellar production value, its clear that Jay just wanted to have some fun in his fickle freestyle over the soulful beat from “Devil in a New Dress”, from Kanye’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

While he waits for his next major production, enjoy this video, with clips from his recent tour, which stays true to Jay’s sweet wordplay, and equally thrilling rhymes:

Anarbor, a pop-punk, alternative rock outfit native to Phoenix, Arizona has had a successful past few years. They’ve had multiple successful tours with bands such as The Cab, The Swellers, and Cute Is What We Aim For as well as being a part of Vans’ epic Warped Tour a couple years in a row.
