Jay Electronica shoots a new music video in Nepal — “Dimethyltryptamine”

30 Apr

Although Jay Electronica already made his own video for “Dimethyltryptamine” by editing together major historical footage, a new video comprised of footage from a trip to Nepal was just directed by Jason Goldwatch.

And here is the old version, comprised of news clips from throughout history.

Here’s one of the first glimpses we get into the highly anticipated LP, Goblin (besides “Yonkers” and “Sandwitches” which were released much earlier on as a single). You might recognize this song from the teaser site, buffalo-bill.net.

Be sure to pick up a copy of Goblin May 10th.

Skrillex remix of Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way”

27 Apr

Although he has unfortunately announced that his laptop and harddrive containing his new album was stolen, Skrillex at least has something positive for his fans.

Just a minute ago, Skrillex uploaded to his facebook an early version of his brand new song “Died This Way.” He did not upload it to youtube, but he claims it is his work.

XV in the studio with Just Blaze and Seven — “When We’re Done”

27 Apr

Life + Times graces us with wonderful visual coverage of the making of the third track from XV’s album, “When We’re Done.” As I mentioned in an earlier post about XV, this song has some unique sampling, and this video does a great job guiding us through the process that these top-notch producers/artists went through to make this great tune. Teebs – “Pretty Polly”

27 Apr

One of the strongest in Brainfeeder’s arsenal, California-native Teebs has just brought us a new track called “Pretty Polly.”

In this piece, Teebs twists a J. Rocc mix into a precious ballad with equally graceful and polished rhythms. Although the artist has announced that the official release of this song is still a ways away, I am more than content laying my head back and letting this track lull me into its brilliance.

Although these may not be the official visuals, I chose this video because it matches the tone of the song nicely

Feed Me releases a new Nero remix and gives his fans a preview of his upcoming EP

27 Apr

Feed Me has been hard at work since his Mau5trap debut EP, Feed Me’s Big Adventure sold incredibly well on Beatport.

He has since performed on the main stage at Miami’s Ultra Music Festival and put out various singles and remixes such as the remix to Robyn’s “Call Your Girlfriend.”

Now Feed Me has a new remix…this time it is of Nero’s “Innocence.”

Another gift that Feed Me gave his fans recently is a teaser for each of the songs on his upcoming 4-track EP, Feed Me to the Stars. So far, this EP is sounding fantastic, incorporating some electro house, some dubstep, even some breaks. It’ll be nice to hear the full versions of each of these songs.

Here is a longer clip of the title track “To the Stars,” being performed by Feed Me at Miami’s Ultra Music Festival.
