Plasmapool Records on a roll in the Beatport charts

12 May

The up-and-coming electro house focused record label has been having a great few months. Their success is greatly attributed to Mord Fustang’s first Beatport release, “The Electric Dream.” Since then, Mord has put out a few more popular singles, the most recent of which, “Lick The Rainbow,” is selling at #3 in all of Beatport.

Plasmapool also has the coveted #1 spot on Beatport’s main chart with Hypster’s “The Uprising.” This song samples the epic orchestral “O Fortuna.” You’ll recognize it as soon as you hear it.

Go pick up these singles on Beatport.

Feed Me releases a new Nero remix and gives his fans a preview of his upcoming EP

27 Apr

Feed Me has been hard at work since his Mau5trap debut EP, Feed Me’s Big Adventure sold incredibly well on Beatport.

He has since performed on the main stage at Miami’s Ultra Music Festival and put out various singles and remixes such as the remix to Robyn’s “Call Your Girlfriend.”

Now Feed Me has a new remix…this time it is of Nero’s “Innocence.”

Another gift that Feed Me gave his fans recently is a teaser for each of the songs on his upcoming 4-track EP, Feed Me to the Stars. So far, this EP is sounding fantastic, incorporating some electro house, some dubstep, even some breaks. It’ll be nice to hear the full versions of each of these songs.

Here is a longer clip of the title track “To the Stars,” being performed by Feed Me at Miami’s Ultra Music Festival.

22 Apr

Although a newcomer to dubstep, Cyberoptics has definitely been making a splash lately.

The Tennessee native got signed to the acclaimed Play Me Records not too long ago and released his EP Tie Fighter. Songs from that EP have been circulating the dubstep section of Beatport, with the song “Pimpin” featured in this week’s 10 Must Hear Dubstep Tracks as well as piercing the top 10 charting songs of the genre.

Listen to his brand new release, “Wall-E,” below and download for free here.

Gemini’s new songs topping the Beatport Drum & Bass charts

13 Apr

Even though Gemini just released his dubstep project, Blue EP, he’s been hard at work doing some drum and bass.

Early this month he released two songs on Beatport, “Without You” and “Destiny.” Currently “Without You” has the #1 spot on the drum and bass charts, while “Destiny” is at #10.

The powerfully thick synth that he’s made famous in tracks like “Blue” and his remix of “Oxygen” translate seamlessly into drum and bass, so you should definitely pick up these new songs.

Dodge & Fuski’s “Come Again” EP out today

22 Mar

This hard hitting dubstep duo has been working hard and putting out tons of quality tunes in the past few months. Some of their most notable songs in my opinion are “Four on the Floor,” “Resurrection,” and “Ridin’ High.”

Now they have given us a full release, entitled Come Again EP.
Get it on Beatport here.

Take a listen below to the title track of the EP:

Zedd’s Zelda project out now on Beatport

21 Mar

I mentioned last week that Zedd, the electro house producer gaining steam with Skrillex and Black Eyed Peas remixes, had given his fans a peek into his new single. This was his original mix “The Legend of Zelda.”

Today it was finally given its official Beatport release through Bazooka Records.
This single is that classic clean Zedd sound, and you’d be missing out if you didn’t take a listen. Along with this single is the Electrixx remix which is incredibly hard hitting and a must-hear.

I’ve already uploaded the Zedd song in this article, so you can hear it there. However, here is the Electrixx remix:

What’s new in dubstep?

21 Mar

In this article I’ll highlight some of the newest and hottest dubstep stuff on late March 2011. You’ll hear new tracks from Dirtyloud, Subvert & Excision, Sluggo & Liquid Stranger, and Nostalgia.

Everyone is now familiar with Dirtyloud after the resounding success of their “Rock It Roll It” remix. It sat at the tip top of the Beatport dubstep charts for weeks and is still in a very good place at #6.
Now they have a new remix. It is of Byob’s “Chillin.” Buy it here on Beatport:

Out now on Rottun Records is a new release from the duo of Excision and Subvert. It’s a two track record, titled “Rude Symphony / Darkness.” It’s doing very well, currently being supported on Beatports “Must Hear Dubstep” chart of the week.

Sluggo is a strong up and comer in the dubstep scene, gaining some recognition along his friends in Helicopter Showdown with their collaborations (listen to “The Wrestler” and “Hostage”). But now Sluggo is pairing up with a different artist, Liquid Stranger. Together they have put out a banger of a dubstep track on Ultragore Recordings titled “Stalkers.” It was released coupled with Helicopter Showdown’s “Hostage,” and it is also featured in Beatports “Must Hear Dubstep” chart.
