Tyler, The Creator’s “Goblin” — available for pre-order on iTunes (tracklist included)

Definitely one of the most buzzed about projects in the past few years of hip-hop, Tyler, The Creator’s major label debut LP is now just around the corner. This is a huge release since this record label, XL Recordings, has worked with some of the world’s most prominent musicians such as Radiohead, The White Stripes, and Gil Scott-Heron just to name a few.

A few weeks ago when Tyler launched his teaser site buffalo-bill.net, I also included the album artwork and a possible (but unconfirmed) tracklist. Well, now I have the full tracklist for the deluxe edition, as well as the deluxe edition album artwork (above).

New single from Hodgy Beats & Domo Genesis of Odd Future — “Tang Golf”

OFWGKTA has been known to break off into small groups and put out independent tracks…well now two of the gang, Hodgy Beats & Domo Genesis, have a new single for us.

The single is titled “Tang Golf.” I’m guessing that name is a nod to Wu Tang Clan considering the Odd Future crew has been compared with them numerous times. Also, the beat is from Wu Tang’s producer, The RZA’s song “4th Chamber.”

Odd Future’s MellowHype signs to Fat Possum Records

Two of OFWGKTA’s members, Left Brain and Hodgy Beats, independently released an album titled BlackenedWhite under the name MellowHype. Although this was back in the fall, they are now gaining recognition by record labels.

Today, Fat Possum Records signed the duo and plans to re-mix, re-master, and re-release BlackenedWhite on CD and vinyl this coming summer.

Odd Future on Funny or Die

I’m a huge fan of OFWGKTA and Human Giant, so when I saw that Paul Scheer did a skit with Tyler, Hodgy Beats, Left Brain, Jasper, and Mike D, I was very excited.
I’m glad these guys are getting recognition from big sites such as FoD. I’m also glad that their sense of humor is on display here, because besides being great musicians, they have a wicked sense of humor (just check out some of the videos on their different youtube accounts of them just goofing around…there are plenty)
